Pizza, Pool and S'mores Party

What better way to end the summer than spending some time with some great girls, having pizza and eating decadent S'mores beside a pool!  THERE IS STILL SOME SUMMER LEFT, take my advice HAVE SOME FRIENDS OVER AND S'MORE IT UP!

Here are the girls!  From left to right: Stephanie of (me), Paula of, Amanda of, Stephanie of, and Lynda from and not shown in the picture, because she was behind the camera, is Jessica from the Huntsville Tourism Bureau.

As soon as we walked in we spotted this beautiful display of goodies!

The total ensemble of goodies: HOMEMADE Birthday Cake Marshmallows and HOMEMADE Classic Vanilla Marshmallows, Hershey Dark Chocolate, Hershey Milk Chocolate, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups and an assortment of spreads!

So what's it like to have a pool party with bloggers?

Arrange it...

Photograph it...

Instagram it.

All BEFORE you get to eat it :)

Amanda made two types of marshmallows; "Birthday Cake Marshmallows" and "Classic Vanilla Marshmallows" both from the Cookbook "Marshmallow Madness!: Dozens of Puffalicious Recipes" by Shanuna Sever, blogger of Piece of Cake.

I have to say, I've had store-bought marshmallows and never had homemade marshmallows before the day of this party and I will go through the effort to make my own marshmallows from now on.  What I learned is that:

  1. Homemade marshmallows melt much faster (so you can eat your s'more sooner)

  2. Homemade marshmallows don't set on fire! (which is one of my biggest worries with my kids making s'mores)

  3. But if you like the crispy outside, then the store-bought marshmallows are the way to go! - Who knew?!

I ate 3 (that's THREE) S'mores!  One with Ritz Cracker, Birthday Cake Marshmallow and Butterfinger cup, another with Ritz Cracker, Vanilla Marshmallow and Butterfinger Cup and the last with Ritz Cracker, Birthday Cake Marshmallow and Reese's Peanut Butter cup. {sigh, I may have to have a home party to do this all over again - my mouth is watering as I'm writing this!}  This event gave S'mores to a whole new life!

Be sure to check out these fun recaps from the party and take a peek at the delicious S’mores themed recipes they’re sharing!
