Mom, Em and I headed up to Fayetteville, TN to visit Sir’s Fabric Store for some fabric shopping and ran across bags and bags of buttons for $3 to $5 - well, we were all over that. This was my very first project that I did once I was able to make a mess again. It was awesome, Em and I stood across the table from each other while I put the button art together, she was decorating a board with paint, glitter, ribbon and things. It was a nice, peaceful, happy moment…
I covered a canvas with burlap by using a staple gun on the back of the canvas.
Occasionally I snipped off the back of some of the buttons with wire cutters and glued the button on.
The big flower was one of Em’s old hair bows (that she would never wear).
It’s so pretty :)…It was a labor of Love – I burnt the heck out of my finger with the hot glue gun…:)
I ended up putting the canvas in my entryway.
If you had a bunch of buttons what would you do with them? I follow LilBlueBoo.com, she took buttons and reproduced the Mona Lisa – really quite amazing (time consuming, back breaking, you go girl!), check out her Time Lapse Video.
