I’ve heard that bad customer service gets told repeatedly and that good customer service is only told to like 5 people; my experience with Select Blinds was just so GREAT I had to share!

When Ben and I bought our first house, we made the mistake of saying ‘yes’ to one of those Blinds companies who targets new neighborhoods by going door to door offering to measure, order and install the blinds.  At the time, we looked at it as a blessing – one less thing we had to worry about.  But let me tell you what I’ve learned from that experience:

  1. Blinds are easy to install
  2. The door to door companies charge twice (that’s 2 times) the amount of what the blinds actually cost
  3. You don’t always get what you want.
  4. The customer service with the company we went with in Atlanta STUNK

So when we moved into our new house 4 years ago, I couldn’t find the size blinds to fit our windows at Home Depot and Lowes so I decided I didn’t want blinds at all – I was very jaded…I went with sheer curtains and layered the curtains (I like the soft look).

4 Years later :)

I redecorated my office/craft room and I wanted blinds for a more modern look.  I was very specific in what I wanted:  vertical blinds that opened on both sides of the window – not just to one side.  I Googled ;) and found Select Blinds. They had exactly what I wanted and a TON of options. PLUS, they have videos on how to install, how to measure etc.  The perfect website for a Do-it-yourselfer like me! :)

I ordered these blinds (3 1/2 Fabric Vertical Blinds to fit my window) and installed them in less than 30 minutes. About a month later, one of the cords to the right came out of the thingie up at the top: I went to Select Blinds website and they had online LIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I chatted with the guy and sent him a picture of what broke with my iphone. 7 days later I had a replacement part!!!

Afterwards I was so pleased, I ordered Reminiscent Vinyl Blackout Roller Shades for our Master Bedroom (reverse roll down with scallops at the bottom) and for the kids rooms.  I LOVE them!  Plus they roll all the way up so I can hide them behind my sheers and curtains. (I ordered mine with NO CORDS!!!)  Installation took 10 minutes each :) I took this photograph at 3 in the afternoon, when the sun beams into the Master Bedroom:  the shades do really good job of blocking the sun out when I want to take a nap and in the kids rooms, they sleep a little later on the weekends cause the sun isn’t waking them up at 5:30am – YEAH!!! ;) .
