Cake Plate Modified

I’m always looking for something to keep my sewing tools handy and came up with a handy way to keep the tools close and also move the quickly out of my way when I need the room.

I used:
  • Some Velcro
  • Magnets
  • Quick Grip Glue (E6000 is also a great glue)
  • From from Maryland China (they have great prices for real China)
    • cake plate (that I had to put together),
    • wine cup,
    • small dish
    • small cup bought
The rest is pretty simple: I cut two magnets on the bottom and the two pieces of Velcro: one to glue on the bottom of the cup and the other to glue onto the cake plate.
Glue the magnets onto the bottom, you may need another inside the cup to hold the needles.
I didn’t use magnets on the other two cups, but I did glue the Velcro to the bottom of all the pieces, and the other side of the Velcro to the plate.
What I love about my modified cake plate is I can pick up the whole thing, move it to another spot if I need the extra space or I can pick up the individual cups, move them where I need them and it is sooooo pretty!
