Paperweights

Need something to hold down your Silhouette Vinyl, Stencil paper, transfer, fabric from moving around, wrapping paper from rolling up, all those things that you need to cut before it runs away or rolls up?

My Mom had asked me if I needed a paperweight and my first thought was ‘what for?’ – thinking of the old way of it just sitting on a stack of papers on my desk.   But once I held it, the weight of it surprised me, I could feel the value it would provide.

How beautiful are these lovely and simple paper weights from Maryland China!!! They are porcelain but really dense, so they’ll be hard to break.  They used to come with cork,  now they come with felt to attach on the bottom (the economy made cork too expensive for most manufactures – including some wine manufactures).  If you have an interest in painting them you can do that as well and fire them before you put the felt on.  Me I like it white (makes them easy to find among my mess). :)

And they have more than one style, check out this Recessed Paperweight, you can add a picture inside the gold rim, and shockingly they are less expensive!

These were super helpful holding down one of the silhouette cutouts I was working on.  As you can see this Silhouette cutout was really tedious, so the paper curling up while I was picking out the cutouts could’ve been just plain old frustrating.

Here is another project I’m working on, notice how the transfer paper is curling up on the right, the vinyl rolls up and so does the clear transfer tape.
