This past weekend we went to Church, something we hadn’t done in a while. The Pastor’s words really hit a nerve with me, so much I started crying and couldn’t put it into words to my husband why I was upset. I’m even tearing up while I’m writing this.
I work from home, and generally the only contact that I have with other adults is through conference calls or emails – generally, they aren’t meaningful conversations (productive – yes, but meaningful – no). I’ve become pretty self involved and forget to be thankful for everything that I’ve been given. I want to be a good example for my kids, who are also pretty self involved as well – with all of their ‘I want’s. People have real problems; bankruptcy, illness, divorce, financial, job loss etc…So,
My challenge to myself and my family (and I hope you take it too):
- Write down one thing every day until Thanksgiving that you are thankful for and put it in the box.
- For Em who can’t write yet she’ll whisper it to me, I’ll write it down and have her put a sticker on it)
- For LilMan who can write his name, he’ll whisper it to me, I’ll write it down and he’ll sign it)
- Then every evening or the next day at breakfast, read aloud what everyone is thankful for.
Until Thanksgiving I’m going to share with you one (or more
) per day that we are thankful for.
Please share with me what you are thankful for as well.
