I always hit the sales rack at Anthropology and I almost bought this sweatshirt until I realized how simple it was to make (plus it was $60 – and that was the sale price!).

Read on for instructions on how to take an old sweatshirt and make it a cozy cute top to wear about the house.

FYI – I feel silly getting my picture taken, but here I am…in my husband’s cleaned, yet really, really stained sweatshirt that is 3 sizes too big.

Seriously do you see those stains! Anyway…

First make a mark with chalk, pen whatever you want to use (the stained side will be the inside of the top).

Fold the shirt in half, matching the sleeves. Make a straight cut where you marked.

Cut off the sleeve cuffs, again a straight cut (if you are using one of your old sweatshirts, you can skip this step and the next step and consider yourself done :) ).

To make the big sweatshirt fit better,  turn it inside out and pinch the hanging down part of the sleeves, and measure and pin how much to take took in the sleeves and sides.

Sew it while inside out, cut off the excess and you are done!

About a 15 minute project and you’ll have something to keep your shoulders and arms warm that is cute, casual and comfortable!
I’m also going to wear it to the gym when I teach Zumba – LOVE ZUMBA!
